I recently purchased a JVC region free and code free dvd player from an Amazon vendor. I bought this machine only to watch region 2 dvds of a television show that I fell in love with. It works very well except the color seems to be way off. Everything has a strong bluish cast. Is this normal? Is it a result of the conversion from PAL. I can live with it, because the show is so much fun, but is there any kind of simple remedy?

I've never seen that with any of the region free players I've had. How is it connected to the TV, and what show is it? Could be something inherently bad with the discs and not the player. I'm assuming you've tried R1 DVDs on it and it looks fine?

Is the problem present on NTSC discs? How are you connected? Component or S-Video? If component, perhaps you got a pair of wires crossed. If S-Video, check for pin damage. The only connecter problems I've ever had have been about S-Video connections - I hate them things.
