i know it's redundant so apologies in advance. can anyone suggest a sub-$600-ish pair of dipole speakers to use in the rear setup of a 7.1 system. I have not updated my system since '99 (no need really) but i've since downsized a bit and upgraded the FP and wired the renovated "theatre" for 7.1.

fronts are B&W matrix 805s & HTM center
surround is Fosgate SD-90 thx dipoles
onkyo 701 thx-select receiver
M&K mx-90 sub

Given a somewhat constrained budget and the limited use of the "7.1" speakers (i'll turn them off for 5.1 movies probably") i'm looking for a great bang for the buck.

i'm not very interested in monopoles and if i were, i'd jump on a pair of B&Ws anyways. All suggestions welcome. :)

Sounds like the B&W DS7 is what you're looking for. It's B&W (which is obviously a plus in your book) and it can be either monopole or dipole (so you can play with it). Now this is in their 700 series, so it may not be a perfect match (or not as close as an 800 series would be), but I think it would be closer than buying another brand.
