What is the difference between a normal video out and a monitor out? I'm just confused why they use different terms

just in basic terms the recievers like a rf switch connect the moitor out to ur tv all of ur components to the receiver and it will sent whatever signal going into the receiver to the tv.

that is quite odd. I would try both connections and see if there is any difference but I doubt it.
