Question on Placement of Surrounds? (1 Viewer)

I have energy take 5 speakers and a Pioneer Elite 35 reciever. I have my couch flush with the back wall can't move the couch out has to stay. I have my surrounds on the side wall about 1 foot above my head, is this the best placement for my surrounds. Should I put my surrounds in the corner os my side wall and back wall and tilt down alittle. My cieling is about 9 feet high, from my sweet spot on both sides of my surrounds are 6 feet on both sides. WHat are my options?. Some guy at Tweeter told me to put my surrounds on the back wall, I told him thats completely wrong, Is he right or wrong. Can anyone help. Thanks
