Wondering if you guys can help me out. I bought a Panny RP56, hooked it up to my ONk 898, easy enough.. one TOSlink cable.

I can play DD5.1 just fine, but when I select a movie with DTS no sound. I know the 56 is only DTS compatible, shouldn't the 898 be able to decode and play the DTS sound? I shouldn't have to do anything special should I?

Any help I would appreciate.

thanks!

You have to go into the menu of the RP56 and enable the dts output. On my RP91 you have to set it to "bitstream". It will either be "bitstream" or "on" on the 56. Most dvd players come with the dts output disabled by default.
