Pioneer CLDS-990 Known Problems/Issues (1 Viewer)

Just got a 990 off eBay. Any problems I should be aware of? I know - a bit after the fact, but the price was right.

Also if anyone happens to have .pdf file of the Owner's Manual they wouldn't mind sharing, please let me know.

If it breaks in any way, you'll probly want to throw it away. If the laser gets out of adjustment, it proably can't be fixed satisfactorily. The 980 & 990 were budjet players with budjet build and performance. They don't measure up to later budjet models. I had a 980 for awhle. I gave it to a friend to use as a CD player because it balked at loading some LD sides. Wal-Mart sold 980's and 990's in the early 90's for $200 & $220, respectively. Best wishes!
