I saw that story too. That's amazing, but I guess not surprising. With everyone losing their jobs, no one can afford to buy new hardware.

I have an interest in Pioneer Kuro plasma displays for a future upgrade, so I wonder if Panasonic's cut back will affect them supplying glass to Pioneer. That assumes Pioneer will survive as well.

Jeff: How do you like your BD35?

I picked up a refurbished BD35 on ebay several minutes ago for $240 shipped. The seller is very reputable and an authorized Panny reseller. It comes with a 90-day Panny parts and labor warranty but I'm trying to decide if I want to fork over an additional $27 for the one-year SquareTrade warranty. I'm not much for extended warranties but the low price got my attention.

Thanks Jacob!

Around three weeks ago I picked up a refurbished Marantz SR5002 for $299 shipped from AC4L so I'm 2/3's of the way there.

I now have my sights set on the final piece of the puzzle...the Samsung HL61A750 LED DLP. My wife says we can probably get it in 2-3 weeks. It's getting harder and harder to find this set so time is of the essence. Not a single BB in my neck of the woods(South Jersey) has it in stock at the moment and Crutchfield has it listed as discontinued. It's in-stock on Amazon, ABT and HD.com at the moment(or so they say).

I was holding off on the BD35, guess I'll be looking at a Sony 350 now if I want a BD player in the near future.

Has anyone from Panasonic said that they won't be producing any more Blu-ray players?
