Anyone know if my Panasonic DVD Recorder/VCR Combo can read Dual Layer discs?

I'll get the model number out later, but I know it can't burn Dual Layer Discs, but can it read them? I ask this because I notice some of my Official DVD's lists them as Dual layer, and it reads them fine...

Thanks :)

With the exception a handful of the earliest players and DVD-ROM drives all DVD players can play dual-layer commercial DVDs. Whether or not a given player can handle home-burned dual-layer discs (-R, +R, -RW, +RW) is another matter entirely.

Your Panasonic DVD recorder should read all commercial dual layer DVD's.
For example all Moives, TV shows on DVD, etc. But when it comes to a home made recording on a dual layer, that is a different story. It all depends if your particular DVD recorder will read +R technology. It will read -R discs for sure. Most dual layer DVD recordable discs are in the +R format. If your player can read +R discs, then it will read dual layer discs that are +R as well.

I have an old Panasonic DMR-E80H which will not read +R discs, therefore it will not read dual layer +R's. But it will read dual layer -R's.
