Optical input for second zone? (1 Viewer)

My farher has a Yamaha RX-V659 receiver and im wondering can you use an optical cable between a DVD player(A yamaha c750) to play cd's in a second zone? The book says analog only but yamaha said you can use either one. Strange. Thanks.

Hi Noel - according to the manual:

"Only analog signals are sent to the second zone. Any source you want to listen to in the second zone must be connected to the analog AUDIO IN jacks of this unit."
