Any experience in the difference between Onkyo and Marantz in terms of sound quality?
Say between SR 6200/7200 vs Onkyo 696/797 respectively. Also whatever Integra is comparable to those.

Do you mean music or movies? IMHO, I have tried Onkyo and Marantz(I own the Marantz SR7200) and Marantz is the better sounding. Onkyo is good but I think the Marantz is better. If you can, demo both of them and let your ears be the judge. Thats the only real way you will know which one to get.

I currently own an Onkyo 777B(had a 656 in the past) and am awaiting a Marantz pre/pro with 7.1. I have 7 Marantz MA700 mono blocks powering my speakers and am using the onkyo for a processor. I have to tell you that the seperate amps sound soooo much better, and are extremely quiet to boot! I would go with the Marantz.
