It's nice to see Tarkovsky get the 4K treatment and Nostalghia is a good film and will buy the disc.

I finally saw Kino's previous version of Nostalghia last year, after seeing Mirror. I always considered the film to be the least of all Tarkovsky's masterpieces, but actually, it now seems like a summation of his career. Rather like Hayao Miyazaki's The Boy and the Heron is of Miyazaki's career. The previous master Kino used for Nostalghia, was battered and quite a contrast to the video masters Criterion used for their Tarkovsky collection. It will be mesmerising to see Nostalghia in one of Kino's pristine 4K UHD titles. And then, of course, I will be impatient for Criterion to start upgrading Andrei Rublev, Ivan's Childhood, Solaris, Mirror and Stalker!
