No 'Footloose DVD' - Is this why? (1 Viewer)

It appears ABC has green-lighted a Footloose 2, for release in 2002. Would this be why -for whatever unfathomable reason- we haven't seen Footloose yet? This, and Flashdance are easily my two most wanted musically oriented films.

Gotta be music rights. That issue is holding up a lot of other Paramount releases: "Grease", Saturday Night Fever" and "Flashdance" to name a few. My feeling is that they don't want to pony up and pay.

I'd buy a Footloose DVD if and only if they include many of the cut scenes as bonus material. Why? Because many of the cut scenes were filmed in my uncle's farm house. In fact, none of the scenes filmed in that house ended up in the movie. It'd be fun to actually see that footage.

I would buy a SE copy in a flash.
If it had a commentary from Kevin Bacon it would be a must have.
I would also love to find out what portions were cut.
This was one of my favorite 80's movies ever.

Footloose is coming; Paramount VP Martin Blythe has confirmed this.
Amazon's sign-ups aren't really a "petition" or anything, so I won't bother.

i thought i heard a little while back footloose was maybe coming in aug? but any how, i'm looking forward to the dvd for this movie, this movie is a 80's classic and one of my faves.
