I have a bit of an empty space to the left of and behind my RPTV. I'm using an Ideal-Lume fluorescent light behind the set to provide ambient light which works very well but leaves the empty space on the left side in near darkness. I can't center the setup on the wall due to my room configuration/seating arrangement. I'm looking for opinions as to whether placing a neon clock or decorative neon light in this area would be too distracting or upset the ambient light balance already in place.

Neon light is always distracting. It's designed to catch your attention.

Yes, I know neon is distracting. My question was, is it TOO distracting? I was hoping for input from anyone who had tried it before.

Yes! It is TOO distracting. I have experienced it at a friends theater (he finally took the neon out).
