I am using the dve disk to calibrate my speakers and have some questions. When I use the limited? pink noise section of the disk I get all speakers tuned to 74-75 db at -17 on the rec. However when I use the full? pink noise section the db meter jumps to around 81-82 and when it swings around the room to the rear channels and sub it creeps up to around 85 db. I have heard that I should calibrate using the limited pink noise because if I tune to the full? pink noise and tune down a speaker to match the rest I will lose some of the midrange. What are everyones thoughts on this? Thanks.

The test tones on the disc are -10dB. Your calibration at 75 with the disc is correct. If you are using the rat shack SPL meter, your sub calibration may be off. Do a search for SPL meter offsets. You may find that you need to adjust the sub up a few dB.
