I was hoping someone out there could help me hook up a VHS player to my AV Receiver. I tried the other night and I managed to get the picture by hooking up to the HD TV's Video 2 input on the side and I used the TV's sound. But I'd really like to hear the sound in Stereo, the VHS tape I want to play is Neil Diamond's Christmas Special, and it's in HI FI Stereo. If anyone has any ideas, I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know. There's plenty of good content still only available on VHS. Thanks! Bill

That AVR doesn't have HDMI upconversion, so there is no point in connecting the video to it.
Treat the VCR like a cassette deck or CD player. Run the red/white to the AVR and the yellow only to the TV.
