I had MP3 creation capability on Media Player 8. I upgraded to Media Player 9, and lost MP3 creation. I prefer 9, but want to revert back to 8 if I cant get MP3 creation back, but I can find anywhere to download 8! Any suggestions on where to get either WMP8 or MP3 creation for 9? I dont want to pay again!

Microsoft don't want you using mp3, grab something like RazorLAME instead.

There are many better ways to create MP3's rather than Microsofts software.
As Nigel points out, they have a vested interest in steering people over to WMA instead.
Go to http://www.r3mix.net and read up on tools that do a better job and are free.
Specifically, you want Exact Audio Copy for ripping music from CD's, Lame to encode it into VBR (variable bit rate) MP3's and if you aren't ripping directly from CD to MP3 you might also find the RazorLame Lame frontend useful.
    All free.
Lame is available from other sites as well, but the above one was the one I had in my bookmark list.
