I'm going to be moving in a few weeks and I think the best bet is to hire an insured moving service (at least for the TV). I'm only moving about 10 miles, but the roads can be bumpy and I'd hate to have something get jostled on the way. Any advice? Have any of you from my area hired insured movers before?

I'd recommend it! I talked with State Farm (home owners policy provider) and asked if I moved it, would it be covered. They said no, so I called and found movers that charged for the stuff they moved, not an hourly rate. They moved all my stuff except stereo and computer equipment and some loose ends type stuff that fits in a car, and it cost me under $400 and that included the insurance. It was great! Well worth the money and not having to beg friends to help. Make sure you get a reptable company though.
