I bought a Mitsubishi WT46809 Dec. 21 2001. It died 3 days
later. When I turned it on one day it would power up
then shut down. Took two weeks to get it fixed. Turned out
to be some diode type fuse on the circuit board. Worked
fine til 3 weeks ago. Same senario as before. Guy came
out and replaced the PWB Board and said I basicially have
a new TV now. 2 days later same freakin thing...dead TV.
It had been running a few hours and was turned off then
turned back on a few seconds later. Needless to say it did
not work. The guy at the repair shop said it may be the
surge of turning it back on right away that may be blowing
something. I find this hard to believe. I just want this
piece of crap out of my house. What should I do? I've
talked to the dealer I purchased it from and they said
they would call Mits for me and see what they could do.
I have a feeling I won't get anywhere. Thanks for letting
me vent!!!!!

Update:

They came and took my WT-46809 in for repair. Got it back
Saturday. Last night it took a crap again. Same old thing.
It won't power up. Anyone have any numbers of people to call at Mits. This is the fourth time it's died in 10 months.

Makes me happy I bought the extended warranty on my WS55411. No problems yet but part of the warranty is that the same problem3x & they replace the set. Hope they get yours straightened out.

This is the problem I had with my ten-year-old 35" direct view Mits. After spending several hours on it, the repairman said he couldn't fix it. He advised against ordering a whole new motherboard for a set that old, and it went out to the curb.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having this problem, as it seems to be hard to deal with. Good luck!
