So I've been out of the HT arena for a few years...looking to get back into it and I have a question with regards to various sources...

I'd like to do the following:

-- stream Netflix to my TV;

-- play DVD and Blu-Ray, DVD-R, and DVD+R playback is a must; preferably DVD would be up-converted to 1080i (or better?);

-- record DVDs;

-- receive off-air signals, preferably in HD;

-- record programs onto a hard drive/PVR/etc. from off-air;

With that being said, what's the best combo of components or minimum number of 'decent' (read good) components that I need?

I was thinking:

(1) stream device for Netflix;

(2) DVD/Blu-Ray player with upconversion;

(3) some kind of magical PVR with OTA tuner and a DVD-Recorder mechanism? -- does this even exist?

Are there any other options? Maybe combine (1) and (2)?

Thanks!!!

1 & 2 can be combined. My Samsung Blu-Ray streams Netflix.

3 does not exist. TiVo does allow you to send programs to your PC for burning to DVD. TiVo also records OTA ATSC as well as digital cable in HD.

Here's a unit that I thought did item 3:

Magnavox H2160MW9 - DVDr / HDDr w/ digital TV tuner

Any thoughts if this might work? It looks ~2-3 years old (still selling as refurbished in some places). Is there a new version of it?

Thanks!!!
