I'm researching for a AV receiver that is minimalist by design. Currently the best ones I've found so far are the Harman Kardon AVR 2600 and the Denon AVR 1613, but even those have too much buttons on the front bezel for my taste.
Does anyone know of any other brands or models?

Minimalist Receiver* (I'm aware of the misspelled title)

You said minimalist but mentioned the buttons on the front panel. Are you looking for a receiver with fewer bells and whistles or a clean front panel?
The Marantz 7005 only has two (large) knobs on the front (the rest are behind the lift-up panel) but it's kind of expensive http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/MARSR7005/MARANTZ-SR7005-3D-Ready-7.2-Home-Theater-Networking-Receiver/1.html
Yamaha 1010? http://www.crutchfield.com/p_022RXA1010/Yamaha-RX-A1010.html?tp=17
Or, try and find last years Pioneer 1121 or Elite VSX-52 http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Home/AV-Receivers/Elite+Receivers/VSX-52
Cheaper receivers are full of buttons. makes them look expensive (even though expensive receivers hide the buttons behind a panel  ).

Thanks Mike.
Gene, I'm looking for a decent powered 5.1 HD receiver that has a minimilist front bezel. I really dislike all the buttons and knobs. Although, I did find the Marantz NR1403 and it's growing on me. It has more buttons that I want but the slim form factor is very slick.

I also found the Pioneer vsx-s300 but the Marantz seems to have better specs for the price.
