Fellowship advances 5 to 1
Kill Bill advances 5 to 0 (I vote In America with ease)
Minority report advances 4-2
Punch Drunk Love and Shrek tie 3-3 which I'll break for Shrek. That's a really really tough decision, I'd say PDL is a bit of a better film, more cajones and highly enjoyable (if odd and quirky) but I've seen shrek many more times, and as great as "I'm going to smash your face in with a sledgehammer" scene is (my favorite in the movie)" I think the 'hallelujah' sequence form Shrek just overall trumps that. I'd say they're both about equally entertaining, but I'd be just as happy watching Shrek alone, whereas I feel I'd need company to watch Punch Drunk Love.

On to ROUND TWO, DAY 1:

Late joining in....

These are easy choices for me.

Master and Commander

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

Pardon the sarcasm, but shouldn't this really be called the "Which LOTR movie will win? tourney?

Master and Commander is an indisputably great film. But it ain't no:

Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

Pay John no mind.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Pay John No Mind

Actually, Master and Commander is just a good film, but you're right, it ain't The Two Towers. ;)

Actually with the seven or so people voting so far, anything is possible, though LOTR is definitely a frontrunner.

On the otherhand (and I didn't arrange this), the brackets worked out that two LOTR movies WON't be facing each other for the final match, because all three wound up on the same side. Fellowship of the Ring was only number five, overall, in seeding.
