I have particular need I'm looking for suggestions.

I have a small home recording studio that I have started mixing projects in Atmos. My problem is my studio mixing space really isn't properly sized for a 7.1.4 set up. So I was thinking of doing the following.

  • Convert my current 5.1 home theater setup to a 7.1.4 setup
  • Enjoy Atmos movies and audio through the normal home theater devices on the 7.1.4 setup
  • But then also remote desktop into my studio PC on the screen in the home theater and listen to the 12 channels of Dante audio through the Atmos speakers in the home theater. The 12 channels are 12 individul audio channels (on for each speaker)
I am hoping there might be a way to merge/encode the Dante audio and PC video into an HDMI signal into the 7.1.4 AVR. I created the attached image to hopefully better illustrate what I hope to solve for.

I would appreciate any ideas.

Your challenge is really one based in the mixing/mastering world, which isn’t our area. I suspect you need to look for answers to porting your mixing system in an area specializing in that topic. As far as the system in your theater, we can help with that.
