KXAS 5 Dallas HD off the air? (1 Viewer)

I haven't been able to tune in channel 5 for the past couple of days. I'm starting to wonder if they are having technical difficulties.
Anybody know what's up.

I just finished getting my Dish 6000 back up in my apartment this Friday and I still haven't been able to get the slightest signal from KXAS. Hopefully they will have to problem resolved sometime this week. About how long have they been down? Chris

i think their problems were related to the storms in the area over the past few days. KTVT HD (Channel 11) was off for a brief time last week, too. Hopefully, they will be back up soon.

Here is their response to my e-mail answering why they were off the air
"First of all, let me thank you for taking the time and effort to contact the
station.
We always appreciate viewers who take an active interest in our programs.
KXAS took the digital 41 station off the air Thursday (9/6/2001) morning at 8am
to replace the entire transmitter.
This is a very large undertaking, but the station is committed to providing a
stable signal to the DFW viewing audience.
We should be finished with the installation, proofed and back on the air by the
middle of this week.
Once again, thank you for contacting the station, and feel free to contact me
anytime regarding your input concerning technical issues for KXAS.
I do apologize for any inconvenience this outage may have caused you.
