Keep my pioneer 1023 or sell (1 Viewer)

I recently just purchased a pioneer 1023. It is still new in the box. My past receiver was a pioneer 1017. It worked well for me and never had a problem. Now my question is should I sell the 1023 or just keep it and wait to upgrade to something better?

The 1023 is already a year old. Depends if you are interested in the new formats/later technology like Dolby Atmos which have been announced. I still have my old 1120 in the bedroom system and it is fine.

So there really isn't too many advantages to upgrading this receiver to a 5-600 dollar brand new receiver? Or to go with another brand?
