JBL S38II's vs. JBL E80 ??? (1 Viewer)

I am trying to decide which would be better as mains in my HT setup. I listen to music 70%(hi-rez format) and movies the rest. Would there be any noticeable difference between the two models? I am mainly looking for sound quality, but some decent lower end, not subwoofer quality, just musical purposes(i listen to alot of acoustic music).

Hey Colin,

I can tell you from comparing them to some huge JBL940's, the S38II"s do well to be placed upon a stand. I had them "26 inches off the floor. Seemd to really help to open them up. They have a better tweeter than the E80's-1" titanium tweet as opposed to the 3/4 titanium laminate tweeter in the 80's. 80's will have better bass response although I started using the 38's without a sub and they certainly do put out for an 8" woofer...
