Because it wasn’t originally filmed with IMAX cameras? Why would I be against it, unless they’ve cut it or altered the aspect ratio?

The BFI IMAX in London has a 4K digital projector and a 35mm film projector. How would that alter the film?Because it wasn’t originally filmed with IMAX cameras?
I didn’t say it would alter the film. I Just said that it wasn’t filmed with IMAX cameras. Some cinephiles may object to that. The BFI IMAX in London has a 4K digital projector and a 35mm film projector. How would that alter the film?
Then don't watch it!The human actors might look ok in 3D, Bruce however isn't. Bruce wasn't meant for 3D. Bruce is scary on film, in 3D he'd be laughable as all of his FLAWS will be on display.
Then don't watch it!
Then you have "no dog in this fight" except to express your disapproval to 3-D conversions which you've done without question.I can't watch 3D unless they make 3D prescription glasses.

How so if the original is still available unaltered?Between getting an object based remix and now a 3D conversion, Jaws is becoming the ship of Theseus.
My comment has nothing to do with the original still being available. The question is whether a remixed, 3D version of Jaws is still Jaws. It's more of a philosophical debate. How so if the original is still available unaltered?

As a classic movie fan, I'm fine with 3-D conversions as long as the original format of the movie is still readily available to purchase and watch.I would think as a classic movie fan you'd be opposed to 3-D conversion as well.
Why would they? It’d just be Jaws on a big screen.I didn’t say it would alter the film. I Just said that it wasn’t filmed with IMAX cameras. Some cinephiles may object to that.
Because cinephiles are a quirky bunch sometimes. Someone asked in one of these Jaws threads whether Jaws was filmed with IMAX cameras. Also Not sure if it has been enhanced for IMAX screens as other films have been. Why would they? It’d just be Jaws on a big screen.
Avatar 2 might renew some interest, but running old classics through a conversion programme won’t help 3D’s image.
That will not stop the now quite tiny faction of members here who still pray for 3D Jesus to come back and save this format from crawling out of the woodwork every couple of years. Instead of...you know...admitting they wasted their money.
Don't bother arguing with them. I gave up years ago and let karma do its work.
