Someone at the Keohi HDTV stated that doing the 9 pt. convergence via the user menu(NOT service), on Toshiba HX81 sets causes hourglass shaped distortions needing professional calibration to correct.

Of course, since I got my set on Friday, I've done this about 6 times. Opinions?

Though I do plan on an ISF calibration, this is causing me to worry excessively in the meantime. Thanks for any input.

I did about six 9-pt convergences on my HX81 also before I did a 56-pt service mode convergence. There was no 'hourglass distortion' on my set. I wouldn't worry about it. If there is any geometry issues with these sets, it was probably there from the start.
