I think the Transformers movies was really a turning point for me (or that's what I remember the most). I really hate them! and don't understand how people could even enjoy them (let alone get excited for). So yes its been few years for me that even if a movie is loud and big with nice special effects but has no coherent story, I cant enjoy them anymore.
Now that I think more, I hate the Transfomers but I enjoyed the hell out of Snakes on a Plane (2006)! Go figure! I don't know how you would define and if you enjoy pop-corn movies, but "Snakes on a Plane" was a perfect pop-corn movie for me.
