Well, which do you think I could get the best overall bass response from in a 6000 cubic feet room? Low bass down to say, 20-25 Hz. Is it hard to get 2 sub to work togther well?

I would definitely say to not go with the two level 3 subs. I've not heard to many good things about them. You may want to consider a DIY sub with that kind of budget. Is that a possibility? Is size a problem? What's your budget?

Paul,
According to information compiled by "The Ace of Bass," Tom Nousaine:
HSU VTF-2: Max SPL = 107.1 dB; 25 Hz SPL = 99.0 dB; 20 Hz SPL = 93.0 dB; $499.00 plus S&H
SVS 20-39cs: Max SPL = 109.5 dB; 25 Hz SPL = 105.8 dB; 20 Hz SPL = 91.0 dB; $449.00 plus S&H plus AMP. 25-31pc is $699.00 plus S&H (NOTE: These measurements are for the larger 20-39 model, not the 25-31)
Adire Audio Dharman: Max SPL = 114.6 dB; 25 Hz SPL = 102.0 dB; 20 Hz SPL = 96.0 dB; $599.00 plus S&H (Tom summed up the Dharman - "This system has excellent output, especially at this price point. Both output and extension put the unit in the top quartile of subwoofers without regard to cost.") See http://www.adireaudio.com/ for details.

Consider the new Hsu VTF-3. It is the VTF-2 with a 12" driver and a more powerful amp.

That price includes shipping, so it will run about the same as a 25-31PC. I am tempted on that deal, but I don't have the cashola at the moment. :frowning:

Is there any data on the HTD Level 3 subs?

Size isnt to much of a problem as we are considering 2

subs. The price range I'm look at is $499 - $699.

I'm afraid the sub is the weak link of the HTD setup. I would look at one good sub rather than 2 weak ones. I've seen reviews stating that the sub 30 hz bass just wasn't there.

Paul,
You may want to wait a little while to see what SVS has cooking in their back burner. Details should be released within the next couple of weeks. If not, also consider the Aperion Audio SW-12. Should be another top performer.

Thanks Bryan. Do have any performance specs on the SW-12?

Thanks,

PaulW
