I like things that look cool, so on my sub, I went for an upgraded finish (dyed and glossy). I am looking for speakers right now, and have my choices narrowed down to two, more or less. Since the sound is apparently roughly the same, I will probably go for the one with the nicer looking finish (that will also match my subwoofer). While there are other reasons for going with the nicer looking speaker, I feel as though if I can get the nicer looking one without losing anything then why not?

Since I'm no audiophile I went the $$$/value route and ended up with Paradigm Studio(v3) 40/20/570/PW2100 all in black.

For me, it was more about type of veneer then style of speaker. I like the lighter wood veneers or just plain black. Don't like dark woods, red woods or colored speakers. My First set of speakers was beech veneer and my second is maple/champaine.
