They've got a really good price the the Dr Who Key to Time box set, but I've never preordered from them.

Empire usually ships so that you get it on the street date. Does Planet do that?

Thanks

I've been using them for about 6 months and have been very happy with their service. They only bill you for your items as they are shipped, which is great. Their prices are decent...not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either. Their shipping charges are reasonable.

I usually receive my items on their street dates. I assume that since they receive their products from their distributors well before street date, they are able to ship in time to reach your door on the street date. Of course, sometimes the mail is fast and sometimes it is slow, if you catch my drift...but I won't say anymore about that.

Overall, they're the best vendor that I have dealt with.

I have to admit that I have now changed my mind. During my lunch break today, I logged on to DVDPlanet and selected the following DVDs for an order:

Blade II, Clash of the Titans, Jackie Brown, Pulp Fiction, Star Trek: TNG Season 4, and The Sopranos Season 3

Before I finalized the order, I then logged on to both Buy.com and Best Buy.com to compare prices. With identical orders, Buy.com was the cheapest of the three. However, their free shipping offer is extremely slow...almost 2 weeks for delivery! That's ridiculous! So, if you add in shipping, it was the highest of the three.

Best Buy actually was the cheapest in the end...even with sales tax added in! If you added the shipping charges to DVDPlanet's invoice, it would have been higher!

So, I'm not sure that anyone is saving any money by ordering online if they have a Best Buy nearby. I decided to drive over to mine and pickup my selections in person, rather than waiting for them to be shipped. I think I will continue to do that for the forseeable future.

Dan,

I would avoid buy.com like the plague...most inept and unpleasant retailers I've ever come across.

By the way...

Bestbuy.com Key to Time set 109.99
DVDPlanet 87.99

Huge difference on this title.
