Home Alone and BIG - Region 2 DVD's (1 Viewer)

I was recently looking at purchasing some Fox DVD's and I saw that Region 2's Home Alone 1 and 2 and BIG were all anomorphic Widescreen.
Are the region 1 releases of Home Alone 1 and 2 and BIG all widescreen anomorphic ?

Moving this to Regional Forum. In answer to your question though, Ricky, no the R1s are not anamorphic (at which point I will warn you that the disc of Big, UK R2 at least, is censored with dialogue alterations).

So Dan, Should I get Home Alone 1 and 2 Region 2 DVD's due to them being WIDESCREEN anomorphic ?

Ricky, while I'd question if the R2s were true anamorphic transfers, sure I don't see why not. Reagrdless they would probably still look better than the current R1 releases.
