Hey all,

Here's the deal...

I'd like to upgrade my TV and I'm looking for suggestions. Basically, it has to be HD-ready and 16:9. I'd like to make sure this is the last TV i have to spend money on for a while so as long as I'll be able to connect my Blue-ray or HDDVD to it, I'll be happy. Any suggestions?

I've been thinking about that Panasonic 16:9.

One of my students just got a PT-53x54 for like $1300, I'd give it a two thumbs up so far. Meets your rather broad requirements. lol

I think it converts everything to like 540p / 1080i though. I actually watched Monday Night Football on it this past Monday in HD. I forgot to ask what model tuner he was using though. Seemed good, with only basic user calibrations so far.

I brought the Star Wars Trillogy over, but the dang game was great so we never made it to any DVD viewing, if the game had been lame, I'm sure we would have switched over.

Yeah.. I could of been a contender... lol

After a loooong amount of time off (well, since 1997) I have recently taken on two guitar students. He chose last Monday as sort of his HD debut party.

As I said, the model my student had, was quite good on full HD source.
