My new house has glare problems in the TV viewing area during the day. Black out drapes are not an option. I'm also in the market for a new TV.

Are flat-panel plasma TV's less susceptible to glare issues?

I think any flat panel, in general, is less susceptible to glare than a curved tube, but it also depends on where the light source is. We just got a Sony Wega and the window is directly opposite the screen, so we do get glare. We decided to get some dark drapes because it got too annoying at times.
