This is a great amp but I am upgrading. I have owned it for the last two years and it has been a great HT amp and for music also. I noticed more of a difference when I moved my HT into a bigger room.
The Carver had no trouble driving my Energy C-series speakers to fill the room. I have used a Denon AVR-3802 as the pre-amp. The best way I can describe the amp is non-bright. Many people dread owning bright-sounding equipment. Well, look no further than this baby for sweet 5-channel THX sound.
Used in a non-smoking, no-children environment. A link to a professional review: http://206.225.87.49/volume_4_2/av705.html
As you will see, this amp steers more power to a channel that has a heavier load. The consumer reviews are also great: http://www.audioreview.com/cat/ampli...1_1583crx.aspx
The original MSRP on this amp was $1200. I am asking $525 plus shipping. That is more than half off original MSRP. I have plenty of pictures to e-mail if you are interested. The amp does have a small dent on its right side, but it has no bearing on sound quality, which is great.
Compare this price to that of something like a Rotel RMB-1075. That amp is also 125 watts per channel but will cost you at least $200 more. This is a great bargain for what it offers: 125 watts of THX power.
I accept Paypal.
