The only information I can find out on the "Guns At Batasi" dvd, due to be released next month, is that it is pan and scan only. Anybody have any information that it will be widescreen also?

Fox is known to have wrong dvd specifications released to the etailers. I would be surprised if this title isn't in its OAR.

It says "Anamorphic" at axelmusic.com
for both Guns at batasi and These Thousand Hills (a film I'm looking to get). However, no mention of aspect ratio.

But then again, whoever heard of anamorphic pan&scan...?

This could be just a mistake, but I wouldn't be surprised if companies start giving us lesser quality on standard DVD to make their upcoming HD-DVD and Blu-Ray discs more enticing. :frowning:

I don't know, I don't think DVD makers are quite the evil geniuses we make them out to be.

Glad to see that marketing was wrong and that "Guns At Batasi" is presented in it's correct 2.35:1 aspect ratio.
