Right now I own a 55-inch rear projection HDTV, and I will upgrade soon. All the DLPs and flat panels seem ridiculously expensive.

Are there any specials on good quality DLPs and flat panels during the holidays?

For a flat panel, I would like a 42-inch for less than $1500. For a DLP, I would like at least a 60 inch screen for less than $2000. Do such prices exist?

Radio Shack.com (you can order and pick up at a store to save on any delivery charges!)and I believe Circuit City carry Syntax Olevia line of HDTV ready LCD flat panel tv's
sized at 26", 32" & 37". Radio Shack is offering all month M
ail-In rebates on all three sizes at their website around $200 - 300 off. I've read reviews that the picture is excellent for the price, especially once you get up to a 37" sized LCD. Also you can buy an extended warranty to cover any dead pixel issues in the future. I thought about getting one myself, but the wife wants to wait a few more years. Hope it is something which helps you as I included links to Rado Shack to view.

Maybe next year. This year, MicroCenter had the Syntax 37" LCD for $800 after rebates. The way prices are dropping, $1500 for a 42" this time next year seems realistic.
