Sorry folks, I missed the Warner chat at which I believe this term was used a lot. I've seen much talk of these "flat comedies" but I have no idea what it refers to. Could someone enlighten me please.

The term "flat" usually refers to films shot with spherical lenses and soft-matted for theatrical projection at 1.85:1. This recent thread explored the issues raised when such films are reformatted for home video.

I sometimes think of flat comedies as those that aren't very funny.
And who want's that?
runs and hides now...
