Fine tuning TV for DVD viewing (1 Viewer)

So, I just got a Toshiba 27A41 TV and a Pioneer DV-343 DVD player for Christmas. I have no clue as how to set up my TV in regards to contrast/brightness/color to get the best possible picture for my DVD's. Can someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Pickup a copy of Avia. It has everything you need to calibrate your home theater.

There's also a great disk called Video Essentials, but I have a hard time recommending it since a new version of the disk is on its way.
