I thought the DVD crowd would be the most likely place to find the answer since most of you appreciate watching your movies in OAR.
Basically whenever I play widescreen DVD's the movie appears on the TV screen in the proper aspect ratio except the left and right edges get cut off by what amounts to a sliver on either side of my 27" 4:3 TV. I know this because sometimes text or subtitles will be snipped off on the side, or when I use the zoom feature in conjunction with pause, I can clearly find details that are left out. Is this my TV's fault, my DVD players fault, or the DVD's fault? I like the fact that the image is bigger and I am probably not missing anything, but it would be nice if the edges matched on the sides.
Anyone know what I am talking about?
I have a philips DVD player and TV if that matters.
