I RECENTLY PURCHASED A SONY WIDESCREEN TV HDTV READY (MODEL KP-51HW40), IT FEATURES 3:2 PULLDOWN DETECTION, AND A SYSTEM OF LINE DOUBLING CALLED "DIGITAL REALITY CREATION) OR drc, HAS 3 MODES INTERLACED, PROGRESSIVE AND CINEMOTION (ACTUALLY 3:2 PULLDOWN DETECTION), MY DVD PLAYER DISPLAYS INTERLACED IMAGE, SO MY QUESTION IS ,
WOULD MY SYSTEM BENEFIT FOR A PROGRESSIVE DVD PLAYER? OR THE TV SYSTME ITS GOOD ENOUGH TO HAVE A PROGRESSIVE DISPLAY?

I DONĀ“T NOTICE DIFFERENCE IN THE PICTURE WHEN I SHIFT THE DIFFERENT DRC MODES, CAN ANYBODY EXPLAIN ME WHY?, ITS ALREADY A LINE DOUBLER?

WOULD I NOTICE ANY DIFFERENCE IF I PURCHASE INSTEAD AN EXTERNAL DEINTERLACER (LIKE SILICONIMAGE DEVICES)?

    THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT

Eduardo: Your set's internal line doubler is obviously doing a satisfactory job with an interlaced signal, though I'd still go with a good prog-scan machine with aspect-ratio control. Don't know if you noticed it or not, but you had your caps-lock key engaged when typing your post. You might want to go back to lower-case! JB
