Dolby Digital EX & Onkyo SR700 (1 Viewer)

Has anyone used this format successfully with the Onkyo TX-SR700? I waited to buy the Onkyo because of the earlier DD EX drop-out problems. This receiver works fine on the problem discs, but does not detect EX mode on the newer DD EX discs. I have to force the EX mode on, but feel the sound is being manipulated and not truly working as intended. I would like to leave the receiver in "Auto" mode and see it detect DD EX when present. Some examples are Star Wars Episode I and Monsters Inc. Both are DD EX. If I leave the receiver in auto, the rear center channel is not active. Any ideas?

Dave,

Dolby stopped using the dd-ex auto flag. Most of the new releases .. in fact all .. do not autotrip dd-ex, you must set it to "on" in order for it to work.
