I thinking of trying to make my own interconnects and was looking for some good step by step sites to help me with the process Any suggestions?

Jon Risch is probably the guy with the most knowledge about DIY cables. For interconnects he suggests using some variant of Belden 89259 coaxial cable. See http://www.geocities.com/jonrisch/i1.htm ...

www.diycable.com is a nice site with some kits and materials for these cables.
