Do RPTV's require shielded speakers? If not, what distances are acceptable.

Theoretically, because the CRTs are deep within an RPTV's cabinet, they should be safe from a speaker's magnetic field. But I've ruined two perfectly good Sonys by having them too near unshielded speakers. So, play it safe and position them at least two feet to either side.
