I would wait to hear some reviews on the new Sony's before making a decision.
And while you are waiting the 3803 would be out letting you buy the 3802 for about the same price as the Sony, making your choice even more easier.

At $699, the 3802 is already ~40% off, I'm not sure it will go that much lower.

I would wait for some reveiews and an in person listen also.

How about after the 3803 is out and several demo and OB pieces (with full warranty) get put up for sale at dealers around the country?

Yogi,

I'm still not sure how much less the '3802 will. $699 for a new '3802 is the exception, not the rule. 6th Avenue Electronics has been selling the '3802 for $699, but many other authorized dealers, including Crutchfield and Tweeter are stills selling it for $1000. We'll see what happens, but I doubt the '3802 will drop to $485.

Thomas,

Greg gives good advice. The 'DA2ES isn't out yet, so no one can provide advice on which way to go.

OB and private sales are not the same as brand new from a retailer, but I can see one going for around $500-$600 maybe. Damn thing is less than 1yr old.

Also consider Sony's equivalent model (pricewise) to the 3802 if the 2ES proves to be insufficient. The Sonys have it all over the rest of the lower end market for bass management and may turn out to be sonically competitive.
