Hello Guys,

I have an opportunity to pick up a brand new 2803 for $485, from a local authorized dealer. I am upgrading from a 3200, that I have had and loved since 98'. Any opinions? I would like to get the new 3805, but just can't swing it right now. The 2805 looks nice, but just not enough different options from the 2803 to warrant a purchase. What do you guys think? Thanks.

I just picked up the 2805. It's fantastic. There are a lot of new features: auto-calibration, 3 componenet inputs at 100 mhz, and a little more power. I love it. It also includes the microphone that requires a purchase with the 3805. The mike lists for $169 Cdn.

It might be worth the upgrade from the 3200. I have a 2802 that I love, my only issue with it right now is that the LFE crossover can only be set to I think 80, 100, and 120 Hz, and I would like to go lower. Also it only has 6 channels of amplification, even though it decodes for 7.1. Take a look at the features on the webpage and see if they make sense to upgrade. Now that I look at it, mine is only rated for 90wpc I think and I'm a little more jealous of that 2805. I say if you can get it at a good price, go for it.

I picked up my 2803 about six weeks ago and find it to be a great receiver. Did not think the 2805 was worth the extra $200 for me. I think you will find the 2803 well worth the $500. I wanted the silver model and went to a local dealer and got only a small discount.
