Seems like people either loved or hated this one. I hated it. In fact, I don't think there is a film I loathed more than this one. From the look of it to the story it told. It basically sums up to some politicians hanky review of a speech. I mean, if that was really all it took to cause the Brits to not have negotiations with the Nazis, it's disgusting. Knowing how the war went, and how peace treaties with Germany fell, just imagine the world we would have if Chamberlain or whoever it wasn't decided not to wipe his forehead?
I think this film turned me into an anarchist...
Gary Oldman was fine but not great. Definitely not the Oscar worthy performance of his career.
Oldman as Churchill = a fine impression
Anthony Hopkins as Nixon = a great historical performance.
Don't get me started on that insane tube scene...
