Not the first time Criterion's cropped a film, they did it to Some Like It Hot. Not always noticeable, but this shot from the film is. Jack's line about Marylin being Jello on springs doesn't work if you can't see her whole legs from behind.

Sorry, I'm just seeing this post. Why would anyone share a screen shot like this as an example of framing differences on a shot in which the actress is MOVING. This is what's wrong with sharing this stuff. You can't do one frame from something in which someone is moving as an example of anything really.

This thread is fascinating, in that not a single person responding had actually seen the Criterion disc, only screen shots from the not to be trusted DVD Beaver site.
