CONAN THE DESTROYER
COLLECTORS EDITION DVD
27TH SEPTEMBER 2004

SCHWARZENEGGER
GRACE JONES • SARAH DOUGLAS • MAKO • PAT ROACH

Conan The Destroyer received a theatrical release in 1984. Born out of the success of 1982's Conan The Barbarian, The Destroyer offered fans another opportunity to witness the burgeoning star in Arnold Schwarzenegger, as he delivered the goods as the sword wielding, guard slaying, action hero Conan.
Now on the twentieth anniversary of its original theatrical premiere, Sanctuary Visual Entertainment will release Conan The Destroyer-The Collectors Edition DVD on 27th September 2004.
The sequel to the dark, brooding tone of Conan The Barbarian, Conan The Destroyer boasts a highly colourful cast, with plenty of sorcery and slaying to satisfy fans of Robert E Howard's primal character and his tales of medieval fantasy.
Director Richard Fleischer (Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea 1954 & Fantastic Voyage 1966) delivers everything one could want in a Conan movie. Medieval weaponry, battles with bizarre monsters and lots of magic interspersed with countless opportunities for Schwarzenegger to flaunt his impeccable physique.
This time around, Conan is assigned by Taramis (Sarah Douglas) the duplicitous witch queen of Shadizar the task of escorting her niece, the innocent Princess Jehanna (Olivia D'Abo) on a mission to locate a special horn of sacred importance. On the safe return of Jehanna and the prized horn, Taramis promises to resurrect Conan's love, Valeria--killed in the first movie--from the dead.
Unknown to Conan, Taramis is really planning to sacrifice Jehanna upon their return in order to raise the demon god Dagoth. Taramis enlists Bombaata (played by Basketball champ Wilt Chamberlain) as the warrior secretly sent to kill Conan and his group of followers once the mission is completed. Conan's trusted allies include the wizard Akiro (Mako) a thief called Malak (Tracey Walter) and the tough warrior Zula, played by the legendary Grace Jones.

Conan The Destroyer - Collectors Edition DVD is presented here in 2.35:1 widescreen, with new 2.0 and 5.1 Surround Sound and comes complete with a collection of entertaining and insightful extras, including 'Conan's Quest: Quiz', 'Collector's Lobby Cards and Booklet', 'Cast and Crew Profiles', 'Image Gallery'. 'Theatrical Trailer' and a 'Commentary Track with Sarah Douglas'.

Didn't you start a similar Conan the Destroyer thread a few weeks ago Jacob?
I'm pretty sure I replied to one here in regional. Anyway over here in Britain both Conan films have always been cut because of animal cruelty, so while it's nice to have this fun sequel to the much better original in 5.1 stereo I would never buy a cut copy knowing a 5.1 uncut copy is available on region 4.

"To obtain this category cuts of 0m 19s were required., some or all of these cuts were substitutions. The cuts were Compulsory.
Compulsory cuts required to sight of animal cruelty (horse falls and camel hit on head) in accordance with current BBFC policy."

for some that would bother people. I understand that. It was not by choice. I consider this dvd t2 extreme edition to the ultimate edition. you get the other side of the story from sarah's point of view. like you got james cameron to do a commentary track for T2.
