Can I use banana plugs on any reciever? (1 Viewer)

I apoligize if this question is a little newbieish but I'm still kind of new to this hobby. I'm wondering can I use bannana plugs to plug my speaker wire into my speaker and reciever on any kind of reciever and speakers or does the reciever and the speakers have to support it? Thanks.

If the speakers and/or receiver has whats called "5 way binding posts", it will support banana plugs. Spring clips commonly found on entry-level equipment will not support banana plugs. The binding posts look like this:
